How do I use the Off-Site Backup Manager?

All our game server hosting plans come with a free backup management feature. You can use this feature to create, restore and download backups manually, or you can set up a scheduled task for automatic backups. All backups are stored off-site.

This feature does not affect our emergency backup system, which in turn does not affect your backup manager quota.

The backup manager limits are as follows:

Plan Max Stored Backups Max Backups per Day
Budget 5 4
Standard/Premium 7 4
Extreme/Extreme+ 14 4
Upgraded Backup Addon (+$5/mo) Plan's quota + 10 10

The Upgraded Backup Addon costs $5/mo, it adds 10 additional slots and increases the amount of maximum backups per day to 10. You can select this addon during check-out or contact us to add it to an existing service. It can be cancelled at any time by contacting us.

Automatic Managed Backups

You can set up automatic backups using the backup manager by creating a scheduled task.

Step 1. Navigate to the Schedules section in the control panel.

Step 2. Create a new schedule by clicking "New Schedule", you will need to enter the desired backup frequency in crontab notation. You can use the cheat sheet to help with this. The following picture shows an example for backups every 12 hours:

3. Click in your newly created schedule to view it.

4. Click "New Task", then select "Create Backup" for action and click save.

5. That's it! You've set up automatic backups through our Backup Manager.

Important: If an automated backup runs and you've already reached your maximum number of stored backups, the oldest backup will be deleted automatically.
