How do I change my server's Java version?

As we are currently provisioning new servers with Java 17 by default now, you may find yourself needing to downgrade your server's java version in order to run an older Minecraft version or server software (Spigot/Forge/Vanilla/Etc). This is commonly indicated by seeing an "unsupported class version", or similar, error while attempting to start your server. You may do so through the HyperCube panel.

First, you'll want to navigate to the startup subpage of the panel, which you may find under the server configuration section towards the left of the page.

Lastly, you can click on the drop down containing the current "OpenJDK Java X"  version and select the version your server software needs.

That's all! As always, you may open a support ticket through our client area if you're needing assistance with having your server's java version changed.
